# WikiParty

> WikiParty is a wiki-racing game made for humans, not AI. It's a multiplayer game where players race through Wikipedia, navigating from one article to another by clicking hyperlinks — the goal is to reach the target article in as few clicks as possible. Play with friends in private lobbies, challenge strangers in 1v1 duels, or test yourself with the daily puzzle. No sign-up required.

## How to Play

A wiki race gives you a **start article** and a **target article**. You begin at the start article and click hyperlinks within each page to navigate towards the target. The fewer clicks (called "moves") it takes you to reach the target, the better your score. If you get stuck, you can give up or retry. Games are timed, so speed matters too.

## Game Modes

- **Daily Challenge** — a solo puzzle with a fresh start and target every day. Compete against everyone on a global leaderboard. No sign-up, just play.
- **Duels (1v1)** — real-time matchmaking against another player. Both of you race the same start-to-target route. Fastest to find the target wins. Queue up and go.
- **WikiParty Lobby** — private multiplayer for friends. One person hosts and configures the game (duration, start/target articles, toggles for search and country filtering). Share the invite link and race together.
- **Open Lobby** — a persistent public lobby anyone can join during a live round. Drop in and out, see how you stack up on the scoreboard.

- **Path**: The sequence of articles visited from start to target
- **Target found**: Successfully navigating to the target article
